The Israel Aid project was really started in response to the War situation in East Ukraine. In the early days of that conflict we were seeing many Jewish people arrive in Israel with almost no luggage at all. Ezra UK’s Israel Aid projects works in partnership with Ministry to Israel (ministrytoisrael.org) which has worked in helping new immigrants for many years. MTI is bringing containers of aid in from Holland, USA and N Ireland and Ezra UK is delighted to be part of that programme.

Currently we have main collecting and sorting points in N Ireland and, on a smaller scale, in Carlisle.

Our representative, Jim Clint, in N Ireland writes:

“The Israel Aid programme involves shipping out good quality second-hand clothing from Northern Ireland to needy Jewish families who have recently made aliyah. My wife and I have been involved with this important work since around August 2017. The Lord has blessed the work in that we have been able to pick up clothing and other items from all over the island of Ireland. Everything we have collected has been donated by caring people from all walks of life with a common interest in helping the needy. To date we have shipped out three 20ft containers of aid from Belfast and at present we are now working on a 40ft container.

The Lord has also provided us with a larger van for the aid collections. We are extremely thankful to Ministry to Israel which provided the funds for the van. Ministry to Israel also pays for the shipment of the containers to Israel. Thanks to the van we are now able to collect a larger amount of aid at any one time.”

Israel Aid Volunteer, Ann Watson, in Carlisle writes:

“The Israel Aid Project began at Carlisle Christian Fellowship, with the blessing of the Elders, after I was given a surfeit of baby clothes to find a home for! Ezra was contacted to see if they could use them – and the project was born! Since 2016, a small team have collected, sorted, washed and mended an assortment of aid generously donated by those who have a heart to help the Jewish immigrants arriving in Israel. It is then packed into banana boxes and when we have enough, they are sent on their way to be a blessing to God’s precious people who need it. The boxes are shipped to Ireland to add to the Northern Ireland consignment. God has kept the stream of aid flowing in to us and we thank Him for the opportunity to serve Israel in this way.”
